a Summary, etc This is a movie about amateur spirit made with an amateur spirit. It is the story of two adolescents who live in a small village, work in temporary summer jobs in a small town near their village, and have a passion for cinema. One of the boys works in a barber shop, the other sells watermelons. Whenever they find time, they work on their old little machine to show motion pictures from disposed films they collect from the local movie-theater, the only person in support of these efforts being the village idiot. While their efforts continue hopelessly but ambitiously, one of finds himself in love. The movie was inspired by the director's own passion about cinema, and was made in his own village, all the acting being done by local villagers.

Oysa herkesin hayatında olmayacağını bile bile hayal ettiği şeyler yok mudur?Recep ve Mehmet 60'lı yıllarda Tepecik adlı bir köyde yaşayan iki kafadardır. Yaz aylarını herkes gibi aylak aylak geçirmemek için yakındaki kasabada çıraklık yaparlar. Recep bir karpuzcunun, Mehmet ise bir berberin yanında çalışır. Hayat hep böyle mi geçecektir, bir karpuzcu ve berber olma uğruna çalışmayla? İki çocuğun ufku ne o köye ne de kasabaya sığmayacak kadar geniştir. Boş kalan tüm zamanlarını terkedilmiş bir ahırda film projeksiyon makinesi yapmaya çalışarak geçirirler. Kimsenin umursamadığı bu uğraşlarında tek bir destekçileri vardır, köyün delisi Ömer.O yaz sandıklarından çok daha fazla genişletecektir ufuklarını. Recep, kelek çıkan karpuzları toplamaya gelen Nezihe ile ahbap olur ve kadının evine arada bir yemek yemek için gidip gelmeye başlar. Tüm hayallerinin ötesinde bir duyguyla tanışır ve aşık olur. Aşk, iş, hayaller... Bu iki çocuk için Tepecikli köyünde ömürleri boyunca unutamayacakları bir yaz yaşanmaktadır.
